Going for your Ls

Information and advice on passing the Driver Knowledge Test and getting your Learner licence.

Before you sit for your Driver Knowledge Test, the RMS recommends studying the Road Users' Handbook so you know the Road Rules and it means to have a driving licence.

You should also do some practice sessions of the Driver Knowledge Test to ensure you are well prepared.

It will also pay to make the most of being a passenger - before you get behind the wheel. Make sure you:

  • Watch exactly how things work in the car
  • Ask lots of questions and absorb the answers
  • Have the Road Users' Handbook handy so you can resolve any disputes there and then.

Once you have your learner licence, you're ready to book learner driving lessons with NRMA Safer Driving School. We will stand you in good stead for your years ahead on the road.
