Ls

Learner licence holders are issued with 4 points. Committing a traffic offence will make you eligible for a fine and the loss of points.

Penalties and Fines

It is important to obey the road rules at all times - you are not exempt from the rules because you are a Learner.

Some of the offences you could be fined and lose points for are:

  • Failing to wear a seatbelt 
  • Driving unsupervised 
  • Speeding  
  • Using a mobile phone while driving 
  • Failing to obey traffic lights 
  • Failing to give proper left or right change of direction signal.

Provisional licence holders are issued with 4 demerit points. Committing a traffic offence will make you eligible for a fine and the loss of points.
