Tuesday 3 December 2013: Radio station 2WEB will receive a welcome boost to fund their road safety initiatives thanks to the annual NRMA Safer Driving School Road Safety Grants program.
The winning initiative was among 32 community organisations to receive a share of the $100,000 NRMA Safer Driving School Road Safety Grants.
NRMA local Director Graham Blight applauded 2WEB for its approach to road safety which catered specifically to the needs of the local area.
"2WEB will use the $5,000 grant to develop a series of on-air road safety awareness announcements and interviews with local authorities that will be broadcast to remote regions," Mr Blight said.
"The NRMA is proud to support road safety initiatives that make a real difference at a local level."
This year the NRMA has awarded $100,000 in grants for 32 road safety programs that address a range of road safety issues including schools, pedestrian, bike, bus and car safety for children and scooter safety for mobility-impaired or older users.
