Road safety boost for Dubbo

Tuesday 3 December 2013: Dubbo City Council will receive a welcome boost to fund their road safety initiatives thanks to the annual NRMA Safer Driving School Road Safety Grants program.

The winning initiative was among 32 community organisations to receive a share of the $100,000 NRMA Safer Driving School Road Safety Grants.

NRMA local Director Graham Blight applauded Dubbo City Council for its approach to road safety which catered specifically to the needs of the local area.

"Dubbo City Council will use the $2,500 grant to deliver their Safe Seniors Forum to 150 elderly residents in Dubbo and surrounding communities," Mr Blight said.

"The NRMA is proud to support road safety initiatives that make a real difference at a local level."

This year the NRMA has awarded $100,000 in grants for 32 road safety programs that address a range of road safety issues including schools, pedestrian, bike, bus and car safety for children and scooter safety for mobility-impaired or older users.
